BEE Montessori Preschool

BEE Montessori Preschool, a tuition-free, English-medium school, opened in February 2017 in Bagamoyo to serve at-risk preschool-aged children. Initially, the school started with one class of 15 children aged 2½ to 4 years old. Due to the success of its first class and the growing demand for quality education in the area, BEE expanded, adding a second class in January 2018 and another in 2020. By 2025, the school has grown to accommodate 100 students annually, providing a nurturing learning environment for young children.

Since its inception, BEE has proudly graduated 144 students, many of whom are thriving in primary school. The school is led by Head of School Glory Mosha and Head Teacher Albina Simon, who are supported by a dedicated teaching team, including Salome Wandwi and Zauna Komba (both joined in 2020) and Efriam Missani (joined in 2023). All teachers are graduates of the International Montessori Teacher Training College (IMTTC) in Dar es Salaam. Additionally, the teaching staff is assisted by teacher assistant Grace and ASFE assistant Hagai.

BEE Montessori goes beyond academics by ensuring students receive proper nutrition. Children enjoy healthy snacks during the day and end with fortified porridge, addressing nutritional gaps often faced at home.

The school’s mission is to give children a strong educational foundation through preschool and support their continued development through ASFE programs as they transition to primary school.

Asante Sana to Betsy, Emily and Ellie van Gemeren (BEE) for their support in making this ASFE dream a reality.
